Worship Services at Second Church

Welcome to Second Church, United Church of Christ, where whoever you are or where ever you are on life's journey, you are welcome here!

Early Worship at 8:30 A.M.
A quiet, brief, reflective servcice with quiet music, prayer , a brief
reflection and communion. Meet in the Church Parlor.

Sunday Service starts at 10:00 A.M.

Adults and children begin Sunday Morning worship together in the sanctuary, with a message especially for the children before they leave for classes.  Our exceptional choirs provide inspirational music at each service.  Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.  Baptisms take place during worship and are scheduled upon request.

  • Sunday Church School
    Sunday Church School classes are available for children ages 3 through grade 12.  The "Seasons of the Spirit" curriculum is based on each Sunday's lectionary, the scriptures used in that week's service.  This allows everyone to consider the same scripture and theme in an age-appropriate manner.  Study sessions and mini-retreats are offered throughout the year.

  • Nursery Care
    Kathy Hume supervises care for children under the age of 3, with the help of an adult volunteer.  Parents may come to church early help settle their child in the nursury.  If preferred, they may take the child to the nursury when church school is dismissed from worship.

  • Children's Worship Bulletins
    Children may find special bulletins and crayons on the tables in the front and back of the sanctuary.  The bulletins help children focus on the lessons of the day.

  • Holy Communion
    Holy Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month.  Holy Communion is offered to all regardless of age and church membership.

  • Acolytes
    Children in fourth through eighth grade may serve as acolytes.  Please contact the chair of the Board of Deacons for training and scheduling.

  • Special Services
    Special Services include Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, and Easter Sunrise Service.
